I know that the latest generation Prelude uses a cable tranny. Can someone direct me to a link, or any information, to learn more about the differences, and the pro-'s and con's of this tranny, in comparison to Hydraulic types. I know Honda opted to using the cable tranny design in the new K-series motors for RSX's........so what is the deal with them. Any help will be much appreciated.
The clutch is still hydraulic, the linkage is a cable instead of rod linkage like the B-series transmissions.
I don't know honda's official reasoning for it, I'm sure it had something to do with comfort or something. The rod link is a direct mechanical connection between the tranny and the shifter, the feel seems much better to me, but then again, the cable doesn't feel too bad either. Honda doesn't seem to screw up gearboxes too bad no matter what they do.
