alright guys.. lets compare JL audio and Alpine

as far as amps go in the 250-500 rms range, who makes a better product??

need some good honest opinions, cuz ill be buying a new amp by the end of the week probably.

had a jl 250/1 but after having some problems and my own stupidity i blew it..

and i loved that amp, so would u guys recommend getting another or maybe a 500/1?

and i have ppl telling me alpine makes good stuff as well, but what about their amps? and what do they offer in that wattage range that will compare??

 

Alpine MRD-M501 is a nice amp

 

JL > Alpine amps....

if you wanna get technical, JL amps like the 500/1, will put out 500 to 1.5-4 ohms...

which means any sub in those ohm range, that amp will put out 500, so you wont have to wire dvc subs to lower ohms or bridge amp etc...

anywho, downside to JL products is that they are over priced......im sure they are other products that will put out 500 watts that is cheaper than a JL amp

 

i like jl i did my whole system jl, 3 amps 2 subs rca and power wire and i love it no complaints. but i shoped around compared prices and did alot of talking to get the prices down you should try little beat shops that are owner/operated you can ussually talk em down depending on your talking skills and time you have.

 

ic what u guys are saying..

other than the jl and alpine mentioned..

any other descent amps in that category that i should possibly consider?

 

they both make good power and a high quality products

I have an Alpine HU in my car now, [no amps] and if I were to get amps I would use the JLs. For SQ, I think both Alpine and JL are very good, but I think the JL has it on sheer power. [punch] it's hard to explain, take the JL 500/1, [500watts into 1.5 to 4 OHMs] and the MRD-M1005, [500watts into 4 OHMs] The Alpine may be a little cleaner, [maybe] the JL will have more "SNAP", [for sure] so if you are using it for sub bass, take the "SNAP" over clean. 94

on the other hand, people claim **** i never even heard of to be awesome as hell. 1000x2 for 200$. how great can it be.

Alpine is a far better bang for your buck, dont get me wrong, JL is a good brand, but most of the time not worth the price tag, when you can get an equally good amp for a cheaper price.

Other brands to look into include, Memphis Audio.

 

JL is better but Alpine is more bang for the buck.

 

JL and Alpine are both top notch. But JL is only for Subs and Amps and Alpine is for Headunits

 

Ill bump this up to the top, to see what others think, while at the same time throwing in another little pitch for Memphis Audio.
