Your valve clearance will be fine.
Your powerband will be horrible.
Your idle will be horrible.
Your cam selection IS horrible.
why would my powerband be horrible? and my idle?

Easy there, turbo.
Your idle will be **** because your using a race cam. Thats normal. Theres so much overlap that your pumping exhaust charge back into the intake as well, thats another reason for the poor idle.
You wouldnt be able to keep your bottom end together long enough to make power with those cams. You'll be bleeding off so much compression down low you wont make power til 7-8k is my guess....

Thats not a true statement, I have Skunk stage3s in my street car and it idles fine, better than my friends car with Toda C's, the primary and secondary lobes on that cam arent that crazy, its the VTEC lobe that is crazy, it will idle fine, sometimes its a bitch to start it up in HOT weather, other than that its fine.
Also 95eg, you need lots of compression to run that cam, there are several posts on HT about that particular cam, everybody says the same thing, you need lots of compression and good head flow to make those cams useable.

Just curious, but what octane are you running?

ok lets set things straight here before the people who really know what they are talking about finally step in.
1 - skunk2 st3s will idle fine, they have a large vtec lobe but their idle is almost like stock, why because a friend of mines runs them with a chipped computer and the car behaves like stock.
2- with jdm p30 pistons his compression would be in the 11.8's which should be fair for a large cam, would be better if he was a 2ltr
3- octane of gasoline pertains to compression not idle

Octane pertains to detonation resistance pertains to igniotn advance/retard pertains to nice smooth idle.

I run s2s3 cams with p30s in my lsvtec untuned on 94 octane and it idles really good(850rpms) for not even tuned, i will be going for tunning soon and post my results, all i hear is that skunk2s3 cams are horrible for street and don't idle worth ****, but in my lsvtec i love them and will love them more when they get tuned for my engine. i also rev my lsvtec to 9200 with gsr girdle and acl bearings no problem.

I have 2 programs, one on 91 and one on 112, both run fine.

Why would you run Stg 3's on 11.8 compression? Why wouldn't you go w/ stg 2's? I have 12.5:1 and stg 2's and am puttin down around 225whp....Just my 2 cents but what do I know

Ok so maybe i was wrong about the idle, however, im 100% sure you will have more area under the curve (useable power) with 11.8:1 w/ the stage 2's or something equivalent.

skunk2 stg2 have a larger botto lobe than the stage3!!
means they wont idle as good
stage3 probably gets better gas mileage and rips harder into vtec.
u can move the same air as a 2 ltr@8000 if u rev a 1.8 to 9800
