New Rear/~50% front.....Is it safe?
I just bought a new rear tire. My front is still pretty descent and could easily make it through this season. I am a broke college student. Is it safe to run like this? They are the same tire just the rear is brand new. Thanks for your help

most would always recommend putting all new tires on, but you are riding it. ride at your own risk. now when your front goes bad, you'll have a half worn down rear and a new front... kinda silly eh?
it's only as safe as you make it, i wouldn't be ultra aggressive on it, but thats just me. be safe, adn welcome to the board

I see what your saying. Next season, I'll be working full time and I plan on picking up a set of Michelins. I just want to get through this season on the dunlops while I get my feet on the ground(graduation in May, need all the $ I can save). I ride fairly hard but I wouldnt say I push the limits of my tires. Thanks for the advice so far.

Yep, that's what I do also. I coordinate them so that when the front is worn down to where the center line is almost gone I buy a new set and change them right then because within 100 miles the belt will be showing.
