Default LS/VTEC, B16, H22 Which One to Get and Why

I'm saving up to do my first engine swap on my 1990 Teg. I just want to get an idea of which engine would be a better route. Keep in mind that my car would be daily driven. I would like to get something that isn't high maintainence, yet big on power, I don't want to do anything extreme, just maybe a couple of bolt-ons and upgrade some of the internals. So if you were in my position, which one would you get???

b18c just because its a bolt in job and you can just get the engine instead of the complete swap.

h22. I would guess its like 150lbs heavier than a b18. But, 2.2 liter vtec from the factory..drool. But the oil pan does hang dangerously low with like a 2inch drop.

if you ever wanted a badass turbo setup with a complete swap get a same year b16 setup. good for over 300 reliable hp on a turned up drag kit. Pm Nsxmatt about his setup.

It sucks that since i already have a VTEC head with my G2 GS-R and i only need the b18c short block, but it seems like it's so hard to find a legit one.

B16A is a direct swap while the B18C1 requires some work. Plus the GSR swap is about a thousand more dollars.

**EDITED**

I re-read your post and saw the year of your teg (@me)
Nevermind what I said about an H22. As stated, as far as I know, no mounts for it. Sorry for the confusion.

If you are serious about doing a swap (there are better alternatives, like rebuilding your engine) then don't waste time with anything but a B18C1 or C5. The B20 and B16 are really not worth the money and labor for the performance increase.

If you thought about all the alternatives I would go with the the b18c1. Easy to install produces a pretty good amount of power, and not too expensive. Although the JDM b16's aren't too bad either. H22 would have definitely been a good choice. Alot powerful and cheaper then the b18c1, but as previously stated, no mounts are made for it. Or you could go with the type-r which would be the closest equivalent to the H22, but it is EXPENSIVE.
