I think if you cylinder is cracked like that it is toasted. Just get another short block, it is not worth the risk to fix it. Imagine all the labor went in and it just crack again after a short while and wasted all the effort.

I might be wrong, but it looks like more than just the sleeve is cracked.

I would get some darton sleeve for that block. Just as long as there is no hole in the block its still good. I also have a ls block with a minor crack but will be getting some sleeves and remove all teh cylinder for the darton.

If you look at the first pic, it looks like the sleeve is cracked and seperated from the actual cylender, which is also cracked. I'm not sure if all that is replaced/fixed when you resleeve a block though.

Yeah I was thinking when you get it sleeved that whole part would be replaced.

When you do the Darton MID sleeve, all of the upper portion of the aluminum is removed. It is repairable as long as the crack isn't all the way down to the crank case. We sleeve many blocks like this and it is usually just the upper portion. The crank looks good from the pics., just have it checked for size and straightness, then polished.

The stock sleeves is made out of two kind of material, i forgot what they are though. When you get your block resleeved it everything will be ok. Also when you get it resleeved the new sleeves will just be one kind of material unlike the stock sleeves. Also your crank looks good, just get it micropolished.

Can you get a better picture of this one. Must of missed that one. If that one might be bad, it's nothing a machine shop can't do.

Take it to a machine shop and see what they can do to it. You should be able to still reuse the crank. Machine shop might have to work on it though.

Cracked sleeves only means better sleeves. When you resleeve your motor you can bore it out to 84mm and have a 2liter motor. On top of that, it'll be like a fresh motor, just even better.
