Default D16z6 head on a D15b bottom?

is these possible, or they way too different for it to be done, and can you give a specific reason why. i know a D15 is 8 valve, and the D16z is 16 valve. I tried to search. if any of you know where it could be found. post up a link.

I am pretty sure no d15 that came from 88+ is 8valve. This will work and it is called a mini-me swap. Search for it and you will find plenty of info.

There are alot of threads if you just type in mini and search.

the hf d15 is 8 valve, the dx d15 is 16 valve.

oh, and please, if you're gonna say the letter at the end, say the number after it too, it just sounds like you're trying to be jdm and it really confuses people, such as the jdm d15b vtec motor.

sorry let me correct myself. I have a D15b(cx) sohc vtec-e motor. i was just wondering if i can put a D16z head on top of it. some one told me i couldn't do it cause my valves are 8, and the z6 head is 16. just wondering if i could. don't want to try and break something. most likely i will.

to answer your question, no, a d16 a6 or z6 head will not work on any 8 valve bottom end.

If the pistons only have 2 valve reliefs, you will most likely have interference issues. Most HF blocks use pistons with only two reliefs. 88+ HF engines are 8 valve.

(CX) ISNT VTEC-E...sorry, i think your thinking of a "vx" which is pre-wired,

And as far as doin a "mini me" on a 8 valve block, it can be done. Hell ive done it, but its pointless, and will run for about 1 month, and you will only make about 10-20 hp, putting you at a wopping 80-90 hp woopee,

Future thought never do anyting to a 8 valve motor, there made to save gas, the cars they come in are light, and are made for swaps,
