around here (Maine) all the pumps around the state give the same thing: 87 89 93

so obviously, i choose 93 but my most recent fill up was @ 2.32/gallon

I don't believe you are supposed to run anything lower than 91 octane in a gsr. It should say right on the cluster: Premium Unleaded Fuel Only. Around here (VA) our premium is 93 octane...but i think the ratings on premium differ between different regions of the U.S.

I believe that running gas with octane ratings of lower than 91 can do damage to the VTEC system. It shouldn't hurt anything to run regular every once in a while but if you do stay out of VTEC. You should stay w/ premium just to be safe imo.

u can get 92, 93, or 93.5 here, i use 92, since u only need 91, u shouldnt ever use anything lower then 91 for a GSR, 87 for ls/gs/rs/se i think.

92 and 93 are premium in PA. Depending where I stop I use either 92 or 93...about $2.40 a gallon.

its not the VTEC that makes you have to use high octane, its the compression ratio. vtec doesnt give a damn about octane. and if you have high compression, then you should NEVER use low octane. even if you keep it in low rpms. thats actually worse. knock (detonation) happens a lot worse at lower rpms that at high rpms.

92 octane @ $2.59 and rising daily. how can you live right next to the ports and pay more than people on the country side? hahahaha. i just don't get economics sometimes. supply and demand.

I live in Reno, and I haven't found any place that sells above 91. Some of you guys are lucky; gas just hit 2.77 for 91 yesterday. Probably higher today, but I haven't checked. Kind of glad I bought an LS.
