ok i just gave my buddie a used clutch kit off my d16z6 will it fit on his 90 hatch? it has a 4 speed tranny he just needs to get it moving again.

 

Should work, just see if the clutch disc will spline up on the transmission. If it does you're good.

 

you NEED to give us more information than that. We NEED to know what years the 4 speed is from. We dont need to know the year of the z6. If the 4 speed was an '89 then the 4 speed needs to use a z6 flywheel so the clutch can have the same contact area as the flywheel. I know on '88 si transmissions , the input shaft had a different number of splines than the '89 to '91 si transmissions, i do not know if that holds true for the 4 speed transmissions. (Someone verify this).

I am 75% sure that the Z6 had the same clutch diameter as the '90-'91 tranmissions. (verify this as well).

 

All 88 transmissions had the different number of input splines. All 90+ d series clutches have the same diameter.

 

if your tranny is a 90 model year trans then the z6 clutch will work fine, as will the y8.
