Default Dyno results of a tuned Ls/Vtec OEM parts build.

I built & tuned this motor for a friend.
I decided to post the results to show/confirm what a setup like this can do.

Note: The sniffer/wideband wasnt reading partial throttle very well, hence the wierd throttle tip in. Futhermore, this run was not the last run. I printed this run due to heatsoak at run 23 within 1.5 hours. A/F ended up at 13.2-13.5ish at the last run according to the sniffer which was being a little iffy.

Specs are:
Ls/Vtec specs estimated 12.3:1 estimated compression ratio
B18a1 block/rods/crank
Arp rod bolts
CTR .25 over pistons
Ls headgasket
Brand New 2001 ITR head & cams
AEBS intake manifold & a 65mm throttle body
Skunk2 Cam Gears
Golden eagle lsvtec line kit & dowels
Chipped ecu running a custom program.
Exedy clutch w/ oem b16 flywheel
2000 b16 transmission
B&m fpr set at 51 psi & guage
AEM intake
Powersteering bypassed
JDM itr header & Greddy Evo Exhaust with a highflow resignator
Tuned by John Vega - Phearable.net on Crome Pro.

185 whp and 134 tq is low ?
I had a simular setup, except using jdm itr pistons with a c/r of 11.6:1 c/r made 184whp and 134 tq

The numbers are average for this setup.

Awesome build

I am looking to build an almost identical setup, using all Honda parts. Looking at other setups with CTR slugs and ITR cams, you could be making 10 or 15 more horsepower...maybe.

This isnt my motor. I am just the tuner & builder.
Personally, from a tuner/builder standpoint I wouldnt expect more then mid to high 180s for this setup.

The setups I have seen in person that were identical put down less whp.
One did 179 whp & 132 tq and another did 186 whp and 133 tq.

I have yet to see another motor with this same exact setup make drastically better numbers.

Feel free to post your dyno results when your setup is done to compare the setups.

i agree. i'd say those numbers look dead on with using itr cams. There's def. more room for power if bigger cams, better header and more tuning. good job overall though

I call bullshit on that dyno chart.... 145 peak tq on a 1.8L using ctr pistons.
I would have to see it in person.

SAE corrected it would be 184 peak whp instead of 185.9

Again, I would have to see the setup in person on a dyno I use. I don't believe in 145 peak tq on a 1.8L ls/vtec using ctr slugs :-) Especially after seeing as many cars I have seen on the rollers with built 1.8L setups using oem & aftermarket parts etc.

I am not trying to suggest your motor isnt doing those numbers. I just find it hard to believe :-)

What ECU is running this? Also do you drive it on pump gas?

the a/f ratios were in the 13.2-13.5? it looks a little bit lean after 7K to 8K. when i tune i try to get a/f in the 13.0 just for an extra safety. but anyways, great number!

I think you should get a clue
Tune a car on crome, tune it on hondata and tune it on aem ems.
They will all make the same power in the end.
