Default PLX R-500 Worth buying?

Check this out:

http://www.plxdevices.com/R-500_productinfo.htm

About $550 + shipping, is this worth buying?
I've been trying to tune with knock sensor as well. Does this look promising?

Opinions?

It looks good to me however I like the more simple things they alaways just seem to work better for me. I have the plx m300 and it works for me as far as using the knock monitor I would never trust it as their is so much noise in the engine bay you will get false readings. This is just my opinion.

If you love datalogging, tune yourself, but have a hondata without datalogging OR don't run uberdata, it'll be great. I personally use a m-300 and wire it for datalogging through uber, and it works great. Not as pretty on the lappy as that shows, but I prefer function over form when I can save several hundred dollars.

What I'm curious about is whether the knock sensing actually works or not.
I wonder if it's important to monitor EGT or use it for tuning.

I could never get the damn gauges on mine to work right. I tried emailing customer service at PLX and they're about worthless. Should have gone with the damn m-300.
