a while ago i was getting a quote to fix a couple paint scratches on my front bumper. I asked the guy doing the estimate how much it would be to paint the side skirts on my 01 integra. He said that even if they were to sand them down that eventually the paint will chip off and it will "start to look like crap". He mentioned that they sold a type of sideskirt that the paint woln't chip, i asked how much they were and he said $800. i looked at the guy like he was crazy and after i got my estimate i left. my question to those of you that painted your sideskirts, how long have they been painted and how does it look? i can't imagine any of you paying $800 just for some sideskirts so i assume either you just sanded em down yourselves or had a shop do this. should i go for it? i don't want the things "looking like crap" later down the line but i'm not certain that they even will. thanks

 

I painted the sideksirts myself on my old Civic, and never had a problem. My brother owns the car now and had it resprayed another color... still looks perfect. I'd say hes bullshitting, especially with that price he gave

 

Mine were painted for about 4 years w/out issue. Recently had them painted again when I changed colors.
They need to be prepped properly, and a flex additive is necessary, but 800 is way too much.
