Some bikes can be dropped more than others but it's a good rule to figure any lowering will affect the ride performance. I would suggest shaving the seat before any mods to the suspension.

If this still doesn't offer a low enough seat height take the bike to a professional suspension shop for lowering.

Do not cut the springs or anything, this is a motorcycle and correct handling will mean the difference between safe riding or crashing.

what kinda bike are we talkin about... i lowered my g/fs honda f4 its 3 inches lowered in the back.. you can buy lowing links from ebay for most bikes and they offer normally 3 dif heights stock , 1.5, or 3 inches, as for handling... the pegs scrape a lot easier now, but the bike doesnt feel much different... the install was rather easy to, but we needed to cut the kickstand and the forks are goin to need to be pulled through to level off the ride height

edit ninjas have a dog bone link that can be replaces with an adjustable one from ebay.... and when i say pegs scrape easier, its still not EASY to scrape the pegs.. just easier than stock.... dont get to nervous unless ur goal is to get ur knee down

cutting springs was like 10 years ago. we got cilovers now i never did that anyays. always did it the right way. i was think of getting and r6 or ninja 600. but i will start out with a ninja 250r or 500r. s a couple friends oof mine are upgrading. just loooking ahead when i will upgrad to a bigger bike. riight now i can only tip toe on a r6. it makes me uneasy if i can't at least have half of the botom of my feet on the ground. i definiely will bring it to a pro for suggesion.

will a motorcycle dealer lower a bike to your liking if you would buy it from them?

How tall are you? Can you only toe it while wearing boots or is that sneakers? I can't flat foot both my feet on my bike if I'm wearing sneakers but find it fairly easy wearing my riding boots.

Most boots, not just riding boots, have a heel.

Oh sh*t! I am the exact height and weight as u dawg! Haha! Anyways, ya you best be shaving off of the seat first. I got myself an '02 R6 because the seat has more cushion than an '01/ '02 F4i. I got some boots from Wal-mart with thick soles. I actually don't really have that much of a problem balancing the bike w/ both feet (err.. toes). BTW, I just got my bike, so as I get more comforable, I'd be able to lean and so forth. Oh ya, I had the person lower the front a few notches/clicks. Hope that helps.

A torso is an upper body.

I can flat-foot in Timberlands, but not riding boots.

<-- 5'6", 145.
