Where is this located? Any pics of the engine bay. What about quarter mile times or dynos?Bump for a nice little scooter.
What would he sell it for outright.?
his car ran a 14.6@ 97MPH, on a dyno, mx-3's with similier setups usually put down around 170HP and 165ft-lbs......and as for price he is looking for mostly trades but he said if the right offer comes up it wont be refused.

wow, thats actually kinda nice
I even like the hood scoop
what kind of engine is that (displacement? dohc? compression ratio? variable valve timing? JDM?)? Was it a hard swap? expensive? How much does it all weigh?
Bump cause I like it
2.5L DOHC, 10.2:1, no variable valve timing, it is JDM, direct swap, engine itself cost $985, I think stock MX-3 weighs about 2300-2400, the different engine doesn't add much weight at all being its the same block that was in there stock, just different dicplacement etc... It is basically a Probe GT motor, with higher compression, higher flowing heads, no EGR, higher flowing intake manifold, and more aqgressive cams
It doesn't have variable valve timing, but it does have a very neat feature. Its called VRIS, meaning Variable Resonance Induction System. Its kind of like the GSR intake manifold, but takes a little different approach, here is a good explaination of VRIS
http://www.geocities.com/mikey...s.htm
there are two different engaging points that you can feel kick in, and give alot more power, so it kinda feels like VTEC.
the hood scoop is mainly for cooling down the engine bay, because the K-series mazda V6s suffered greatly from heat soak of the intake manifold, something about the way the intake manifold was mounted that transfered too much heat...
so underhood temps got a bit high, but the mixture of phenolic spacers for intake mani, and the hood scoop helped cool the engine bay down alot
thanks for looking
Adam
