Depends on the width of the rim, too. Look up the range of approved rim widths for the tire make, model, and size on the website of the tire's manufacturer or a tire retailer like the Tire Rack.

im on a 16in rota c8 wheel. my tire right now is a 205/50 with a tien drop..it be rubbing like hell...i dont want to give up my 50series (makes less off a wheel gap) the 205 is the reason why it was rubbing so i tough that a 195 tire would work
