ls or gsr tranny
I love questions like these, cause they make no sense. The difference is only a couple mph in each gear. If your turbo'd/spray then whats the big deal. Youve got way more power than needed to get to redline fast enough.
Its only particularly important when you have an all motor car, where each mph counts.
to answer you question, LS is best.

And I love anwsers like these, pure stupidity.
Yea go with the gsr, much better over the ls tranny.

Nope....it will only become a factor depending on the amount of shifts you have to make and at what speed it is.
For instance, if a shorter gear box is quick, but you have ot make 1 more gear shift in the 1/4 mile, a slightly longer gearbox to only race in 4 gears might yeild faster times.
But, in general, shorter gears are always better. Although, the point is to keep the engine working in its peak rpm range. Its the area under the curve that matters, so whatever maximizes that will be best.

Go with the GS-R... shorter gearing means more torque multiplication, so more actual torque to the ground. It comes at the cost of lower top speed in each gear (ie you shift sooner), but it's well worth it when talking about going from LS to GS-R. I'm running a turbo LS engine with basically GS-R gears... the shorter gearing doesn't feel faster (since it's pretty smooth), but actual performance shows that it is definately faster.

Drive an ls with an ls tranny, then drive one with a b16 tranny and then try saying that. To you

my girls GSR is the same way, it doesnt feel that fast since its so smooth but when u look at the speedo while driving ull be suprised

you must be. look at it this way...the more time you spend with the rpm needle in the power band, the less time you spend with it moving up. we call this "accelleration."
to answer your questions, b16/itr > gsr. the ls trans doesn't exist to me and i would never use one in my car.
