Default *sigh*-car wont start, bad gas....

this sucks, but there was a gas can filled with something in it that smelled like gas, it was darker than normal, figured it was the shade of gas....but nope....now car wont start....it kicks over, wants to start, but doesnt do anything....

ive already drained it once, then put new gas in it, stabil, cleaned spark plugs, havent done anything about injectors or filter yet, but i was jus wondering if it will all pass through, or what....

anyone got any suggestions???

hmmm......wow.........hmm.....umm.........well.... ....
*speechless*

Seriously - did you car stop on the highway or something? You're not supposed to just throw anything in the tank just because it smells like gasoline.....was there a problem with your car before?

Try relieving the fuel pressure - and just clean everything fuel related....including the injectors....

You might have screwed something up - hope not though - good luck

Well - i have a question now that you've mentioned it - what exactly would happen if diesel was "accidently" placed in a vehicle?

The same thing thats happening to you now. Car won't start up which means you'll have to drain all the gas out of your car. Run some Gas Treatment or something through as well

i was under the impression that it was regular gas, but found out after the car didnt start it was mixed....whoops....

now, its all been drained, took filter off, emptied those lines, ummm getting fresh stuff for it tomorrow.....

i took the plugs out, theyre all black as shate from being flooded, so those were cleaned and the holes were left uncovered to ventilate...

do you think that would have fouled em?

I'd do the fuel filter again shortly. New plugs are in order too. I'd try to get it started with some good ole starting spray..

Anyhow good luck..

dont change your oil thats retarted theres no way that running mixed fuel will hurt ur oil. the reason you cant run diesel in a gasoline engine is because diesel wont ignite unless you have extremely high pressures. you can run gasoline in a diesel engine if you mix lots of oil with it becuase its more corrosive than diesel. there is still mixed fuel in your tank becuase your return line woulod have still been full of it and by now its dumped into your tank.

thanks for the advice guys.

im gonna grab some new plugs today, and try to fire it up again. i never thought of the return line feeding back into the tank, but the last time i drained it, i drained the fuel line too. then put fresh gas in it, so hopefully it got all the mix out of there.
