painting my emblems

do i need to sand them b4 i paint them or just make sure i put on enough coats?

i painted my front emblem black w/o sanding and it chips from road debris. My friend recommend you sand it first. I have to pop off the emblem and repaint every two weeks.

you should always sand b4 you paint...the paint has to stick to a somewhat rough surface......
