Default should i buy it(car)?

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp....dptop
i have been looking for a clean , no rust, stock ef since probably last year. i've been hardcore looking for one since , last september since i have needed a car since then due to my beater being vandalized.

now, for some reason people think their hondas are worth so much. i have talked to dude down to 2150 , i want to pay 1800 so i can have a little money left for mods. even then i think that's too high. but it's gonna be 2150 plus 85 for me to ride the bus down there, plus gas money back. it's around 5hrs away. the dude is in no hurry at all to sell since he said he's gonna let the ad run for a full year, so i dont think i can get him down to 1800.

if i dont buy this, im just going to buy some random car because im sick of not driving. i really want a clean ef, so if i dont get this i'll probably end up spending my money on something random, and i wont be able to have an ef for a long time.

i know it's not tech, but i need some ef'er opinions. please dont tell me to make up my own mind, i will , just need some input.

edit: forgot to mention that im planning on buying a car by sunday, april 10th. this week is spring break for me , and i dont plan on coming back without a car. so i have to make a decision because i doubt im gonna find an ef that i can have here by next sunday.

No way in hell would I spend that much on the "HF" model.......4spd manual and dx motor....You could buy this clean crx here in FL and have it shipped for around 1800....i mean you could get just about any clean EF around the states and have it shipped cheaper then that price....now if that hatch was the si model I would say it might be worth it, but its a base model. If your pondering about this crx I speak of PM me for details

yeah that's what im saying. i mean it's super clean compared to ef's around here. rust is a big problem . the thing is , i have been looking for an ef forever, but i still dont know if it's worth paying that big of a premium.

i doubt i cant find one for 1800 shipped, it cost roughly 800 just to ship a car, so it would be an ef for 1k. i have also been looking at ef's from southern and western states, and the price after shipping is much more than this ef. im not looking for some ragged, rice boi modded ef. im looking for a clean , no rust, stock one that i can do everything myself on. if i just wanted no rust, i could buy this shell here, but i dont want to deal with the previous owners messups.

yeah that's high. i paid $1250 for my std in tx. . that is a clean *** hatch though. just keep jewing(no offense meant to jews) him. maybe he'll come down? if the miles were lower it'd be a good deal. it is damn clean though.

yeah , i know you guys in the south get better deals since rust isnt taken into consideration, but it's harder to find a clean one up here. i keep trying to get him to come down , but it's hard because he says he's in no hurry to sell and he'll let the ad run for a full year to get the best offer.

There are good deals and desperate deals.
I paid 1700 for my HF. but later the year found cheaper deals. (Me desperate)
There is always a better deal down the road.
But i have no regret that I paid a lot for it.
Just ask the seller to lower to at least 1800-1900 range. Tell him you pay green cash. They love green.

i'd really buy it if i could get him down to 1800, but it took a lot of convincing to even get him down to 2150. i plan to use the car as a quick daily driver, maybe take in on the track in the future. basically i want to have a super clean sohc turbo ef. first i plan on wheels tires/and suspension so i can get an overal feel of the car. then swaping in an si tranny and mpfi with the stock bottom end and a junkyard turbo setup.

no way man... i bought the same car 2 years ago (90 civic hatch standard, 70 hp 4 speed manual) and i got it for 900. i sold it last year for 700 and it was still in good condition with no rust and about the same mileage.

maybe in the place where you live cars are worth more but.. boy thats alot for a 15 year old car (2,500), since a 90 standard when its new it cost like... 10k in 1990?

Hey man, cars are a pain in the ***. truthfully its worth the 1800ish or so for how clean it is. Also has Crx wheels so yuo have awesome wheels already, Saved money there and whatnot.(250 bucks or so). I would pay it for a clean hatch. People might say thats alot but cheaper isnt always great, Could be clean looking but have alot of body filler to make it that way. Just check it out good and decide from there.. To me it be worth it. maybe up to $2000. Just think money saved on paint, wheels, and body work you prolly be in a better postion with this hatch. Good luck with purchase

You should check cars.com they might have more CRX and STDs compare to autotrader. I bought my 89 HF (with D15B2) for $1500 but I still think I got owned because the inside was stripped (the panels and the back). I would try looking for little bit longer but if not, just buy something else.

It's OK to take your time bro. It took me 7 month to find me a CRX in decent shape.

The overall feel of that car is SLOW, first thing I would do ( and am doing this summer) is swap out for an SI tranny. Anyways I found a 90 Std Hatch 89k, and no rust for 1200 and that is in Maine with crazy winters. I would just keep looking. After you spend the money on a tranny, mpfi, and maybe a cam your car will be about as good as an SI. Not worth it IMO
