You never say....
I haven't heard of anyone getting the 03 Si's stolen. Is there something better about them so where it'll be harder for a stock car to get stolen?
If so, I want one, my car got stolen two Saturday's ago.

Really? So (ovbviously) the immobilizer keeps the car from moving but how does it work?

The immobilizer basically makes it so you cannot start and drive the car without the correct key. The key has a chip in it that tells the computer that it is the right key and if it isnt the right key the car will run but it will stall after 5 seconds cause the code in the key doesnt match the code in the computer.
Also it has an alarm but it isnt very complex. It is just basically an alarm that will go off if the car is unlocked from the inside. No proximity sensors it wont go off if you kick the tires.
The car IS STILL very easy to steal with a tow truck or a flatbed. It is not by any means an "unstealable car"

That makes sense, damn, I hate the fact that you have to arm yourself against someone who could have whatever you have if they just worked for it.

I moved out here to San Diego and I guess I don't know the areas that much. I have a friend that lives in La Mesa and that's where it was stolen.
I rarely ever heard of cars being stolen in Georgia though. It makes me miss it.

I know, I'm about to leave the state just to get an alarm put on my car. So no one in San Diego can say that they worked on it.

I know Cali has crazy whips and hot girls, but you guys must also have chop shops and cars heading over the border out your ***. There might not be a lot of modded cars in Kentucky, but ther HARDLY ever get stolen and the girls have a real southern belle charm.
I know this is off topic, but from what I have heard on this board I would never want to even park my car at the mall anywhere on the west coast, I dont know how you guys put up with it.

The thing that makes it so bad is that people on here know people who steal cars.

Sorry to hear about your car man. I'm in Atlanta and work in Marietta and I know what you mean about cars not really being stolen here. I'm so glad to know that someone else feels this is safer than the west cost! At least someone has something good to say about the south
Sorry again to hear about your ride. I hope your ins. covers it and more! But we all know they never do

I've only read about less then a handful of EP's getting stolen on this board. Other then that I've heard of people having their seats stolen.
What worries me is once the whole k series hybridding blows up more so to the point where its as common as b series swaps.
Lot more people are swapping the k20a/a2's in the EP's and of course we know about the k swaps in EG/EF/DC's etc. So not only will the ep possibly become a hot item for theives as more k20a or a2 swaps pop up in them, the k20a3 will also be a commodity as a canidate for a swap in an older honda. They are relatively cheaper then the k20a and a2 swaps so there will be a market for them. The brakes can also be swapped onto the EG on EK chassis pretty easily. The steeering wheel can also be installed on an EG/EK.
So the motor, seats, brakes, and steering wheel will be sought after... I wouldn't get too comfortable guys
Theft-deterrents should not be half-assed on the EP's imo.

That's crazy man. To make it so bad, almost everyone knows where a chop shop it. There's not difference between a chop shop and telling someone what part to steal off of someone's car. Cause where do you think they got the part from? Then you probably have a random H-T coward that knows a scammer, which is virtually the same thing.
For everything that you can't stop you can slow down. If I can keep someone from feeling how I felt when my car was stolen I will. I may never be able to save every car from getting stolen but one is enough.
