Default 4th and 5th gear to fit in s1 Trans

Hi,
I just put an s1 trans in my 93 ls and im real happy with it except for the fact that i can barely drive it down the highway. I want to put a longer 4th and 5th in the car. If not that atleast a better 5th. At 80 mph im at about 4800 rpm's. I have been told that i can use the 1990-1991 ls 4th and 5th but im not sure. I tried using the ls gears from my car but they had a much larger inside diameter. If anyone knows what gears will fit on the shafts of this s1 trans that would be a big help.
THanks in advance,
Steve

Hey..

You've really only got 3 choices:
1) Find a 90-91 LS gearbox and build a custom gearset out of that and your S1..

2) Give that S1 back to the guy who sold it tou you and find a GSR gear set and an ITR diff and build a decent trans out of the 2 of them..

3) Get your LS trans back and buy an aftermarket final drive set with another type of LSD unit(Quaife or Something like that)

Keep you eyes out for a blown up or apart GSR trans any year or a 90-91 LS trans..

Jeff

Also..Keep your eyes out for a t25/T28 turbo kit/or pieces...I have a project for you and the welder..

4800 at 80. Thats not bad. Try a b16 j1 tranny. I was at 5k at just above 70mph.
