Hey folks, ive always been an alpine fan for my WRX, mainly since they rock, and its blue. Well now ive got a Red EK, and the blue alpine doesnt look right in it. Cna you guys recommend a good black and red CD player? First of all, it has to have MP3 and tilt face. Ive seen soem Xplod CD players, but most of the new ones are blue or ugly. But let me know who makes good stuff, and the model number to!

lol they are different looking. and they used to have more of a selection. I don't like to mix brands either. Alpine is a good company no doubt. I'm partial to RF and Eclipse personally.

). Does RF have nice red CD players? Or are they still they ugly blocky looking headunits?

And like you, I also like matched brands, and the closer "upstreem" the sig. is the more important it can be, at the "dowstreem" end, it's way less important, so any good speaker brand will work, but adding a "sig. processor", [SP] of one brand to a HU of another brand can cause problems, and you have to know that Alpine SGs were made to work there best with Alpine HUs, same gos for Kenwood w/Kenwood and so on, and there are SPs, [AudioContro] and others that will work on most HUs, as you get to the amps, its less of a problem, JL amps work great with Alpine HUs, [ thats what our JL rep. wants on the JL demo board]

They actually discontinued their head unit line this year...but uhh...Fujitsu (Eclipse) made them.

Sounds like you don't give a **** about sound quality and just want it to look "cool". Eclipse makes some quality stuff Nakamichi makes some even better stuff. Sony Explod stuff is crap but they have some stuff in red so that may be what you want. I also don't see why you want everything to be one make but ok. Sometimes you have to go with differnt brands for each item for the best quality.

Next time read the post and even teh heading! high quality red CD players i said. Ok, if you read past that, you might have read that...I never heard of nakamichi, or anything good about eclipse. So before blah blah blahing, why dont you read read reading.
back to subject: So eclipse is good quality stuff? What all do they make? amps and speakers also i assume? And do they have any MP3 or DVD player headunits without a flip out screen.

Yes Eclipse is basically Alpines competor most people seem to come down to choosing between Eclipse and Alpine. I don't know if they have red cd players though but they are good quality HU's and somone above reccomended them so maybe they do I just haven't seen one unless you can change the colors on them. You said high quality but then you also seem like you are going for looks more than function. Eclipse also makes some very good Sub's, they make speakers although I am not too familar with these and they also make amps and again I'm not too familiar with these. I am not a fan of going with all the same brand just to say it is all the same brand I would rather mix and match components to get the best SQ as some companys make great speakers yet another may make a better amp.
So are you saying you have heard bad stuff about Eclipse? Honestly I don't know that I have ever heard anything bad about them but I'm sure there are some people that have had problems. http://www.eclipse-web.com/ There is there web site. Just like I'm not all that impressed with the Alpine HU I have. I heard nothing but good things and everyone saying how great they were so when I needed a new HU for my truck I decided to give Alpine a try. I have a JVC Aresonal in my Accord. Well I was very dissapointed in the Alpine the SQ is not as good as the Aresonal and overall it just isn't as good. Now it is a very good Head unit probably one of the best just not as good as the JVC Aresonal and I didn't see why everyone likes them so much instead of the Aresonal's or Eclipses. Now I haven't had experience with the regular line of JVC head units and from what I have heard they are crap. I know my Aresonal sounds great and is a good HU and I have talked to several others including a guy that owns a car audio shop who uses one in his car and likes them the best. I don't know about the ones that just came out and I don't know about the regular JVC line but I know mine is great. Mine is partially red but also has purple and other colors. I haven't heard that great of things about the regular low end JVC's though so I don't know if I would buy one of those.

Trying to pick between an Alpine and an Eclipse HU could be hard, we sell both at A&B sound I like the look of the Alpine over the Eclipse, and I have been installing it since it came out, Eclipse is new to the market compared to Alpine, but Fujitsu Ten has been making OEM car audio for at least as long.
