Comptech Springs rusting on TL, does Integra have the same problem?
I have heard many people with 2002+ TL complaint about their comptech Springs(expecially the rear) that were manufactured like 2-3 years ago. They said the rear springs started to get rusty over time. I'm sure comptech had fixed the problem by now. Has this ever happened to Integra owners who brought comptech springs like 3 or 4 years ago?
I think it happens to all springs really...I have 2 sets..One eibach and one H&R and they both have rust on them..HTH
I have an Integra and I had really bad rust to the point where 2 of the springs broke. 1 was my front right the other was rear left . I called Comptech about this issue and was told how this was a major issue for people who live in New England area due to road salt conditions and even though I was out of my two year warranty they would send another set of springs becuase as they put it no spring should break. Sagging to the point of replacement yes but not break outright. Now they have a completely different supplier of their springs and also submit them to a harsh salt and weather test to make sure they will not rust out. Just so y'all know I don't drive my car in the winter and the springs were installed onto koni yellows by an Acura master tech. The new springs are phoshate bathed and given a durable epoxy finish as oppose to the original champagne finish that just seemed to peel away at the first signs of climate outside of El Dorado Hills CA. Anyways i'm still waiting on the springs. I hope to see them soon it's been three weeks. So everyone knows in no way am I bashing Comptech . I think their products are some of the best out there for Honda and Acura. I also feel they have some of the best customer service period . Sorry for the late reply to your message just did a search out of curiosity to see if anyone else had the same issue. Yes Integra's have that same extreme rust out issue. Comptech has fixed this problem.
best customer service period, they will give you a brand new set of springs for free if they are indeed problematic. i had only heard of this problem on a batch of 04+ tl springs, and the problem was rectified.
