Try this, turn ign. on, turn unit on, set stations, turn ign. and unit off, wait a few min. then turn unit on, are the station pre sets still there, if not, the constant power and the acc. power wire are reversed.
If the unit will not turn off, you have wired a constant power into the amp/ant. trigger lead of the unit, if none of this is so, then I would say there is a problem with the unit 94

Um, you're bumping the thread without giving the information that fcm requested? I think his post answered the questions, even if you didn't ask them...

What EXACTLY is the problem with the deck?

the unit isnt bad, some wire is not allowing the deck to cut on w. the igntion, yet everything is wired to what its suppose to be, would the anti theft in the deck have nething to do w. it not working in a 97?

Are color codes the same from 97 to 99? I know the plugs changed between those years, but did the colors, too?

what im sayin is, i need to get it so the deck turns on when the car does, not having constant power, everything works fine, i can put the code in, listen to music, tune a radio station, everything, just the deck itself will not cut off......you have to unplug the deck to get it to cut off, there fore its not coming on and off by the ignition like it should

Check and make sure that the wires in the car are as stated that the acc., [yellow/red] switchs with the ign. switch, and the constant, [white/yellow or blue] is constant, if that is good, and the unit is wired properly, and it WILL switch off, [with ign,] as long as the constant, [white/yellow or blue] is NOT hooked up, but WILL NOT switch off if the constant is hooked up, if this is so, then the diode between the acc. and constant, [inside the unit] is blown, and will have to be replaced, [repaired]. 94

12 yrs custom fab, my apologies gentlemen, I didn't know, silly me for reading quickly...

and no offense to anyone, because you both seem to be knowing...I KNOW for a fact that owning a shop doesn't MAKE you a good installer. try talking to some of the people I do .
