welding of a down pipe exhaust
whats up guys. well I have a prob I went and changed my oil the other day on a lift.when I went to wipe down my oil pan a little bit I noticed all this black **** so I was like ummm. where is that from. look alittle further and I see a crack in my down pipe exhaust. now its a drag III cast iron down pipe. my main question is if it can be welded. and if it can any suggestions on what to use. hit me back. thanks. Jon
Yes,cast iron can be welded. It needs to be preheated before welding and cooled down slowly to keep from cracking it more. Many pro welding shops can handle it.
