Default auto to manual swap worth it?

Ok heres the deal..i have a 96 integra ls auto. It currently has 75xxx on the chassis and engine. I was wondering if its worth it to do a manual swap? Im planning on buy a gsr engine which comes with the tranny. Or is it better off selling the car and buy a low mileage gsr, ls, etc? The thing is im not going to be able to sell my car for that much, missing interior, etc. sort of like a project car. So basically my question is, should i build it or sell it?

depends how much you have into it and how sellable it is. with a 100% stock car, i'd say sell and buy. if your interior is totally gutted, you'll probably take a big enough hit that it might be better to just do the swap. price both ways out and see where you stand.

I'd say its worth it if you're not gonna sell it. Especially if you do the gsr swap. You'll also have the insurance prices of an LS, but really have a gsr.

here's a good article I used when collecting my parts for my auto to manual swap.

goodluck

i used to have an auto and was in the same situation, but since my car was relatively stock i just sold it and bought a stick.

p.s. when i was looking into doing the swap, i was quoted about 1000 for the labor by a local shop

I think you should just swap it and keep it as a project. Good luck

damn, my shop charged me 400 for labor

of course, i dont think they would charge that cheap again. Maybe a little higher.

that was about what i was quoted....but from the looks of it, it can probably be done cheaper.

where i live there is only a handful of shops that do work on imports so they charge a lot.

did mine like 4 months ago, no prob. Reason I swap mine because I already poured too much money into it and had low miles. It feels and looks exactly like a manual except the fact im cheap to buy a manual cluster .

LOL that what i was thinking easier to sell once its done. Was planning on either getting the G35 or RX8 but the price of the RX8 is close to the G35 so myte as well get a G35

if you do decide to swap to manual you should probably just take the front clip off a manual gsr and swap the whole thing for yours, it'll probly *** out cheaper...I just swaped my 2001 auto Ls for a GSR 5spd. and came into alot of unexpected parts that had to be swaped too, like Axles, tranny bolts tranny mounts...and It total'd Just over 5K for all parts and 750 for Installation cause I bought all parts seperatly...It Broke My Pockets, but It's worth it
Good Luck
