normally on any honda, i just use castrol 10w-30. it all depends on the weather is in your weather. to me personally, i dont think there is much differnce with the synthetic and normal oil. oil is oil IMO

On a car like this, you are better off running the high mileage motor oil from companies like Vavoline, Castrol, Pennzoil etc.,

here goes the story. as far as wive's tale vs reality, i have no clue. sometimes in older engines the only thing blocking potential leaks is built up crud. you run synthetic oil, it can clean out the crud, and all of a sudden you have a leak. that being said, i switched to motul full synthetic 5w30 in my car at 140k with no problems. i just turned over 150k and it doesn't lose or burn a damn drop of oil. if you run it hard, run full synthetic. i can tell the difference. and if your car is well kept, don't deviate from the specified oil weight. it usually says on the oil filler cap. honda engines are very precise, they specify 5/30 for a reason.

Castrol high mileage 10w30, and I add a can of RESTORE with every change, and you get more power, you can fell the power come back. also I use FRAM Double gaurd for that dirt

10w30 to be safer. 5w30 works too. Higher mileage oils are thicker however.

5/30 unless you're worried about burning or leaking. use what honda reccomends.
