Question on how to plug up the water log nipple
Hey thowing together an LS VTEC motor. The water log I am using comes from a VTEC block. I do not have the oil cooler that went with this VTEC water log setup. I need to close off this nipple any suggestions? A few pics of the buildup too for your entertainment.
Thanks.

Thanks.

fastest route I can't think of is to cut off the nipple and weld a small plate over the hole. Be careful with welding it into the pipe because it is not that thick. Or just use a LS water log and be done with it.

no the ls and gsr have the same thermostat housing.

I am using a JDM ITR housing. Now does this make a difference?
Just need to know what to pull when I go to the junk yard on Monday.

I highly doubt there would be any difference compare to the USDM ITR. For the junkyard get the LS water pipe and the hoses connecting to the thermostat housing since the LS differs from the B18C5/C1 engine because of the oil cooler coolant hoses they have.

If you want to plug it, I would say to take a hose and put a bolt into it and jb weld it into the hose, also put a hose clamp around the bolt/hose and then put it back on..

I have thought about that. But then I am concerned about the longevity of that plug in a hose. It is a consideration though.
I have also thought about just putting a cap on the and clamp that would go over the clamp. I am going to go and visit the "Hoseman" today (acutually shop here that is badass! for any hose/fitting you need) and see what they have to say there.
