AEM CAI and or Iceman CAI is prone to hydroblocking i don't buy into that whole bypass valve.....you live in Jersey i see...i'm sure the weather isn't all the great in winter....why not just invest in the Comptech Icebox...instead of placing the filter at the bottom by the air ducts it's a tube placed there and there is not chance that it will suck in water unless your submerged passed your headlights....and the sound of the CAI get's old and annoying in my opinion...it's less worries in my opinion

Get a Mugen intake or an ARC induction box.

AEM CAI...the bypass valve has been proven , i dont see why anyone wouldnt "buy"into that , it is based on laws of physics last time i checked those still applied. that hydrolock BS on the other hand is blown way out of proportion.

AEM with no bypass Valve for 2 years and no problems! To me Iceman is garbage, but that is my opinion. The AEM intake has been dyno proven! Who gives a sh*t what it sounds like!

Imagine this....

Hold an Iceman in your left hand andan AEM CAI in your right hand... Feel the thing walled lightweight plastic in your left... ok, now feel the sturdy powdercoated aluminum in your right hand. Examine the two filters.. the AEM/K&N Filter is proven. I don't know exactly what filter the Iceman comes with....

Considering they both cost about the same and claim the same gains, I chose the AEM b/c it looked better and I felt that I was getting more for my money. I was very dissapointed in the Iceman the first time I saw it in person. It looked flimsy though it wasn't easily bendable. The AEM looks great when you pop your hood... the Iceman just looks like a textrued black palstic tube. That's my rice explanation for deciding on AEM.

LOL!!!! I recently had my car dyno'd and have the AEM CAI installed on my setup....The dyno shop had an extra Iceman intake to prove a point.......the Iceman Intake made 5 more hps to the wheel on my setup..........Couldn't believe my eyes....Plus Iceman gave me a much more smoother line...........Just sold my AEM CAI......ICEMAN is on order.......You know where my vote goes......Who cares about what looks pretty........as long as I'm still ahead of ya......lol

B16 powa......

Is an ICEMAN easier to install? What's the website if you know it off hand? Thanks.

Does the Iceman come with a K&N?

The only time I've hand hands on experiance with an Iceman was in my friends 2nd gen integra which we did not have the cold air extension on at the time... the filter was tightened onto the tube but it just didn't seem to fit as tight as my aem... the plastic seemed like it was giving way to the stress of the strap.... his has definatly seen better days though, so i can't say this is true for all Iceman intakes.

i have had my iceman for about 5 years. not one problem with it. and it has a K&N filter by the way its just not as big as the filter aem uses. now my friend has had an aem less than a year and has a hole rubbed in his from the a/c lines. another friend has an aem on his civic and it has dents. both things i have not had a problem with.
on this board though the question you should have asked is not iceman or aem but what color aem...cause almost everyone here uses the aem so of course they are gonna tell you to get the aem. kinda like if you were to ask what to get, civic si or integra gsr on the integra forum....of course they are gonna tell you to get the integra.

well on that note... I prefer Blue...

I have heard complains of the AEM rubbing the AC lines causing minor to somewhat severe problems, but if you install it right you will NOT have this problem. (remember to read the instructions and buy the proper intake of course... a GSR CAI doesn't fit an LS that great... even though that's what i'm using... doh) This occurs from incorrectly lining up the bolt that holds it on near the bend. As far asdents go, i try not to drop anything near my car

Default AEM CAI or Iceman CAI

Well I wish I had the money and time to dyno tune and test all the intakes out there. That's why this question is asked over and over again. There is no conclusive evidence/answer that one is better over the other. A question is asked, "Which intake is better, AEM or ICEMAN?" And it usually ends up with "ICEMAN sucks because of this, or AEM sucks because of this..." Those of us that have stock intake housing would like some type of resolution on this matter. What we need is a "Great Intake test!"

well, i bought the iceman for 150 shipped.

to those who say its ugly. ur wrong. my whole engine bay is black and red. i have red silicon wires everywhere and a powdercoated valve cover.

my iceman intake is also red. it looks nice on my car.

hp wise, i dont know, i didnt get it dynoed. but i did notice a huge improvement over stock.

and for those who said its crappy ur wrong. cause my iceman intake has lasted for over 2 years. and it still looks new. no sign of wear or tear. no signs of dents and the filter still fits securly on the intake. the intake itself is also secured on in the engine bay cause theres two place to bolt the two peice intake.

now, my friend's aem intake who has it for about 1 1/2 is still looking okay, but i did notice a couple of dents and water stains on the intake which is hard to clean and remove.

dont know about hp tough.

the iceman is easy to clean. and doesnt get as hot as the aem. trying touching it after a 2 hour trip.

at least one company doesnt have to advertise to sell its product.

and the aem cam gears sucks...
