FI gurus help me with my predicament
first of i have a sleeved d16y7 and wanted to do a mini-me..my goals are 300-350hp with future plans of over 400..now the two options..do i either:
1. do a mini-me with a y8 head
or
2. forget v-tec and do a straight y7 build up
i really dont know what to do..i want the most power i can get however it seems to me that after reading about the mini-me it doesnt seem 100% reiable..i just want some feedback and tell me what you would do in my situation..

Is it a daily driver or pure track car? If its a daily driver buy a whole motor, get it sleeved, get the bottom end built, swap it in, turbo it on low boost until you can build the head.

i think you missing my point..i know how cheap the parts are thats part of the reason im doing a D-series build up however i have seen many cases where the mini-me engines have reliablity problems..i was just wondering if it was worth going thru the stress and problems BTW im not trying to be cheap on the parts i will be using a gt2871, fully built sleeved motor blah blah bblah...who needs vtech when you have booooost

Well if that's what you think then I guess you already made up your mind....do it however you want, if I were only using a D series I would go with the y8 but that is just me.
