getting itr cams (b16) what power do they make from 8200-8500 rpm
The reason I ask. Well i was supposed to get bc3+ but that got fucked up so I am just gonna get some itr cams.
Okay, I had ordered springs and reatiners for my bc3+ as I know I planned on reving them till at least 8500 rpm as they make good power till then but now that I will be getting itr cams I can easily keep the stock redline and use my stock valve train as I know a b16 can see 8200 all day with ease with itr/ctr cams as I did it years ago b4 the yellow bomb was turbo.
So question is, what power do the itr cams make up top, from say 8000-8500 rpm cause if I keep stock valvetrain not only do i save cash for not buying springs and retainers but i save money for not having to install that crap as well.
mods,
intake
4 into 1
thermal exhaust
intake cam gear ava, installed when cams go in
hondata, will be installed b4 dyno tune
fpr
..thats it for now
thanks guys!
Kenny

thank you for the one reply but jesus, Im sure therhe are over 3,000 members on here with a b16 and itr cams that havew a dyno with simple bolt on's and hondata at that. Just curious if the gains threw that small window are worthy of all that extra cash for springs and retainers.
haha, this is for my n/a civic, not my fully built beast!
Anyways after a good hour of searchig I found a few dyno's with itr cam and people reving till 8500-8600 and really the cuve is flat if not just starting to fall off. SO imo, its probably more worth wile to stay stock valve train and keep rev limit to 8200 with hondata!

Here's my b16 dyno from a couple years ago
Sorry for the crappy pic but power starts falling off at 8300

still good numbers for a b16!</TD></TR></TABLE>
Yeah it was with CTR cams. I was stoked b/c it was a stock block and bolt-ons basically

I personally have a B16B in my car, and in stock form the b16B makes power up until redline. It never falls off.......granted it has a ported head, but my rev limiter bounces around 8,700 with the stock ecu. You can run the cams with the stock b16 valvesprings, both of my roomates have dropped ITR cams in they're b16's and both of them have had <U>noticeable</U> power gains. THey pull MUCH harder in 3rd gear for sure....imo they are one the most cost efective upgrades you can do!

i have one with ctr cams, but its not much use to you, my power drops off at 6800 rpm, shitty, and i mean SHITTY chipped ecu
keep in mind these are mph, not rpm at the bottom

not much help, but its something. I also have, 4-2-1 header, cai, vafc, chipped ecu, and ctr pistons.

I have ITR cam in my b16 , and it feels like it stops making power at around 8,300.
Where is the stock itr's vtec change over at. I have mine set at 5,500 do you think that it's to low.
