benefits of a b16 transmission swap for my 2000 LS??
hey everybody, i was just wondering what the benefits are to swapping my current transmission with a b16... ive heard of numerous people doing this and i was thinking about doing it as well...ive searched and all i find are want ads or FS threads...my current transmission is very difficult to shift(no idea why...this could just be on all tegs, but this is my first 5spd and only teg ive driven) and i want something a little more fluid..this could just possibly be a problem with my car...but the b16 tranny swap is def. an option...
anyways, thanks for the help and please list those benefits!

The b16 trtanny has shorter gears but your rev stays around 4k rpm at l**** 65 or 70 mph. I nstead of the b16 another tranny would be the gsr tranny. the gear isn't as short as the b16 but is shorter than the ls and still street drive able with the increase gas price.
i have the b16 tranny on my b18b, ****** awsum, it's great, pulls hard in every gear!
i haven't seen any significant drop in gas milage either, still get a lil over 30 mpg highway...cruisin around 4k-5k rpm
the shifts are so much better going from my 100k mi ls tranny to my new 30k mi si tranny!
