Type R stuff on the 05 DC5 Type S???
I've read in some forums on clubrsx that the 05 type S has cams, manifold, exhaust, and the final gear ratio of the type R.....can someone please tell me if this is true or not? Thanks in advance.
I am not sure if that is a question......but its my understanding most of the stuff you mentioned should drop right into a dc5. Its like I keep seeing how guys drop a whole k20a engine and tranny right into an ep3 and damn thing just bolts right up. The usdm cars have the ability to run all the jdm parts, they just werent put on the cars.

not true the it still has a PRB manafold. cams are alittle different. also different part numbers I've been comparing. it has a final drive of a ITR but the ITR has a different 4-5-6th gears.

most parts on the car are different. I've done alot of research to do what you want to do and let me tell you it's not cheap. But it is rewarding to have nice parts that work right.

correct, the 05 manifold still has the PRB stamp.

Actual headlight housing. Not the HID's.

we always get screwed. Except in the states i guess the rsx security system is way more advanced then japan! anyway i heard the 05 was DAMN close to the type r this time but yea the intake mani isnt a prc yet
..so what if i got an 03 type r tranny and dropped it on a 02 type s? feel a big difference? damn, the rsx is so nice ;*(

type-s,,,type-r,,, just one word different, but for the car, it's big difference. after i swap JDM TYPE-R into my 05 type-s, i can only say wow, awesome. the output is almost same, 210/220, but bigger tourqe from the R is making something different.

I hope you have a lot of money..
Cams, IM, exhaust, headlights, tailights, seats, door panels, carpet, shift ****, shift boot, center console, parking brake, mirrors, sway, strut bars, rims, intake, exhaust manifold, valve cover, the whole suspension, rear wing, front and rear badging, stickers on the sides, gauge cluster, steering wheel, the whole valvetrain, different gear ratios, no rear wiper, brake calipers & pads, rotors, front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, fenders w/turn signals, flywheel, door sills, so yea...
I know im forgetting something, but have fun changing your Type-S to a Type-R

So if the headlight housings are the same, we would just need OEM ballasts and bulbs to have "jdm" headlights?

Good question, anyone have an answer? I'd like to know as well

i understand where you are coming from, i'm swaping my DC5 to *mostly* JDM parts. but to do the full conversion is a waste. no matter what you do it's still a USDM DC5 Type-S, nothing you do will make it a type-R. Even if you get a front clip and make it RHD, it was still manufactured for the USDM. Do what you want with YOUR car, since it's up to you, but just think about it before you start replacing everything. IMO pick and choose a few things here and there to customize it more to your tastes rather than everyone else's....
There are some TypeR parts on the 05. These include:
intake snorkel (the rest of the induction system is identical to 02-04)
Exhaust b-pipe (the axle back portion is identical to the 02-04, and does not have the flap)
camshafts (the cams are a new revision of the PRC part number, and are the same as TypeR)
Final Drive Gear (the 1-6 gears are identical to 02-04 TypeS)
That is all the TypeR parts for the driveline.
