Best way to learn about tegras or cars in general ..?
What would be the best way for me to learn a good deal about cars and more specifically my integra? For all the pros here, how'd you guys do it?
Experience.
Just start with little stuff like changing sparkplugs and oil. Then move on to bigger things when you think you can, like changing a timing belt or water pump. Oh yeah and a Helms manual is helpful too.

Do what GSRaCerbOI said as well as try to meet others near you that also like to work on cars. That's how I did it. My best teachers were some of my friends that I met on H/T.com.

Get some jack stands and don't forget to put the e-brake on and put blocks behind the rear wheels. Never get under a car held up by only a jack. Have fun!
Get a manual and read it in the bathroom
The Helms is said to be the best...I have the Haynes you can get at Pep Boys and it works great for me. I learned about cars out of necessity really. During college, my beater broke a lot and I didn't have the money to fix it so I had to do it myself. You start with oil changes and plugs, then I moved on to clutches and axles. Car stereos are good too. After about 4 years I believe I can do anything except rebuild a transmission.

a litt less than 2 years ago i couldnt change my oil... now i can do most stuff... all it takes it time and practise and be around influencial people and people who know their stuff... i heard someone tell me this before... and it just always stuck in my head... it went along the lines of...
u will never be better than whoever ur teacher is... i used to play drums and i was taking drum lessons... granted the guy i went to used to be in numersou bands and was sponsored and all and pretty much was a real good drummer... and i went to him for a while... the day just came where he couldnt teach me anything anymore... i had learned everything he could teach me... and he knew this... thats when he would tell me it was time to move on... i had to either learn things myself or go to someone who is the best... same with cars... if u go to learn from someone who can only swap engine in and out and do basic stuff... thats all ull ever learn... if u hook up with someone who builds all out race motors... ull learn more... wouldnt u? and this comes from experience... i used to know some people who only would swap motors and whatnot and i didnt really learn much... except for that... now i go to someone who builds all out race-motors... and basically my knowledge i would have to say has greatly increased...
this board also helps alot as well... there are a lot of people who really know their stuff but then again there are others who dont know much but act like they do... u have to be careful what u believe and what u dont believe... sometimes ill go and argue about something which 5 people may believe is correct... but i may know better...
find a few knowledgable people who are trustworthy on this board and basically follow them around and see what they say... u will learn alot if u read this board... but u will learn more if u go out and actually do it urself
