Well ive had my permit for about 2 months now, and am signed up for the MSf course on May 12th. Ive saved up all this year so far, worked full time, and going to school, and have reached my $$goal for a bike, gear, ins. etc, so im shoppping around for a bike now. Ive come accros this 2000 Cbr 600 F4, and its one of the color schemes i want(besides white/red) and am think of jumping on this deal. Here it is:
"2000 CBR600 F4. Silver and Red. Jardine slip-on. New chain and sprockets. 2nd owner. Never raced, never downed. Runs and rides great. Clean title"
Hes asking 4200 obo, but i talked him down to 3800 cash. let me know guys
My buddy at work whos been riding his whole life, said its a good deal, and hes willing to go with me and pick it up.

Its basically stock, with the exeption of a jardin slip on. And the rear scratches from from bungee straps, and theirs a minor blemish on the right fairing as highlighted.

the F4 seems to be a pretty good deal. Hondas are dead reliable. Here are some other options
'99 R6 $4300 obo:

f4i $5obo (a little more than you might want to spend though):

Looks like a pretty good deal for 3800. Even better if the tires are in good condition. Just get some rearset adapters if you plan on riding twisites.
hondas in general are nice bikes, but i really dont like cbr f4s, iv ridden 2 friends bikes, and they have a laid back feel, not aggressive at all, not a confident instilling position, i felt like i was sitting straght up, didnt feel to condifent to take fast turns, overall the bikes felt crappy, and were slow
id recomend sitting on the bike and riding it around for a little while before you buy it
id highy recomend a yamaha r6 same year and up are great bikes, much better imo
but who am i, make your own mind up, sit on and ride a bunch of different bikes before you buy

Thanks for the responses guys
Im gonna see if my buddy can go with me this week and check it out. I thought of the r6, but cant find any in my price range, and as good of a condition as the cbr is.

my gf picked up a yellow and black 99 f4 last year for $3700 15k miles, never down, couple scratches in the same exact place as the ones on ur left side fairing..... it had a d and d pipe, and it needed tires (still does) so i'd say jump on it, its a good deal... its hard to find a CLEAN 600 99 or newer for under 4 k.... especially something that seems well taken care of....
