Default Ok to remove cat header?

The one that is bolted to the underbody. My car rattles between 3000 and 3500 RPM's and I have already tried the header heatshield with no luck. Is it ok the go without this headshield?

I will keep an eye on the gauge. I hope this is what was rattling.

you shouldnt have any problems with removing the headshield. but that rattle your talking about is most likely from the header bracket thats bolted to the block. i think its a 14mm, right side of header, just above the oil pan. its a common problem, the bracket cracks and vibrates.

it could either be that, the bolts that connect the header to the cat (rattling on my car), the other exhaust heat shields, and yeah.....start up your car, and have a friend rev your car to whatever rpm it rattles and try to locate it from there

the same **** happen to my friends gsr
rattling noises, we check everywhere
the problem was inside the cat it has 2 section of the honeycomb
one of the honeycomb section broke and it was rattling
we took of the cat and dumped it out, from what i have notice the car runs alot faster
with one side of the honeycomb (lesser restriction)
