hey guys, just had a quick question to throw out there, was just wondering...
When do i know i need a new clutch for my 94 accord...?
symptoms...how long do they normally last...how much does it cost to get changed and what else should i change at the same time.

From slippage and that the clutch doesn't engage right away. Another way of seeing that the clutch is getting worn and thin is from the fact that the engagement point is far from the floor.
The life span of a OEM clutch is hard to predict. It depends on your driving style, but I drive pretty aggressive and I had a stock clutch for about 110K miles, and it had no signs of slippage, but the surface was pretty worn.
As far as replacement, I wouldn't change the clutch without changing the flywheel. Do both at the same time. In the worst case scenario get the flywheel resurfaced, but I would not recommend that.
Labor will cost you about the same for whether you are replacing a clutch, or both a clutch and flywheel. It will run you between 300-500 dollars in labor and 250 - 1000 dollars in parts. It all depends on the manufacturer and location.

If your just looking to replace the clutch I wouldn't worry about replacing the flywheel. It will be an un-needed expence. You can get the flywheel re-surfaced for around $50-$65. A new flywheel will set you back at least a couple hundred $$. Plus it won't hurt the flywheel one bit un-less the flywheel is cracked or out of spec.
Because the car is a 94 accord, I am assuming that it has close to 100K miles. Using a flat brand new clutch with an uneven worn flywheel will definitely reduce the lifespan and the quality. It's like putting new brake pads with a worn rotor.
If you have less than 30K miles on the flywheel, and you have been driving really gentle, then don't bother replacing it.
The reason why I wouldn't get the flywheel resurfaced is because it softens the flywheel, and it will become uneven faster. It's like peeling off the harder/outer surface of a water melon, and being left with a smooth surfaced content.
