Default Anyone want to point a newbie in the right direction?

Hey folks! I'm looking to get a good price on a new engine (new to me, at least). This probably belongs in the classified section, but I'm not allowed to use that section yet, so it's going in here! Ok, to the point: my LS is great, but it doesn't have the pull I need. Anyone know where I can go for a VTEC B18? Anyone happen to have a nice one just lying around? What about an H22? I've got to find something that'll make my little LS outrun my last project car - modded Mitsu Eclipse GST - that my brother now drives. HELP!!!!!!.......please?

Hooray for first Honda-Tech post! I'll be using this site a ton - know everything about that stupid Mitsu...know NOTHING about Hondas.

if there isn't anything in the classifieds you can always use http://www.hmotorsonline.com ... I think they have about the lowest prices on motor/tranny combos!

Forget buying a new motor, why not just boost your current motor?

Then your brother will wish that his car can keep up with yours.

B18B (your motor) motors are good candidates for the snail.

I'm definitely considering boost also. Actually, I looked at that first and tried to price it out, now I'm doing the same for the swap. See, here's the thing, I gotta make RELIABLE power - this car has to make the 9 hr. drive to college several times a year for the next three years. I don't know which to trust more - some engine that I don't really for sure know the history of or a forced induction system bolted onto an engine that's gone 48k miles naturally aspirated. Both options seem slightly iffy to me. Plus there's the whole money thing. If one were a lot less money than the other, I'd be willing to deal with something a bit more questionable reliability-wise. Although, the way it's shaping up, a homemade GSR is gonna cost me about the same amount as a homemade LS-Turbo...
