What is all this talk about a RSX Type R
I read somewhere in a post about a RSX Type R model. I can't remember the thread and my search came up unsuccessful. So does anyone have info on this. Maybe a site I could visit or something..??
Ahahah it makes me laugh. There is no RSX R. The thing is, its called an Integra, and the Americans always refer to the Integra as the Japanese version of the RSX. It works the other way round, the RSX is based on the Integra. Therefore, any murmers of an RSX R relate back to the Integra R in Japan, NZ and Oz.
Makes me laugh every time I read an American article that says "..They still call it the Integra in Japan..." like it should have its name changed to the RSX.
ROFL

I wouldn't know. However, just to make it more confusing, I assume they would badge it the RSX type R.
Sorry If I have lost you.

lets try to clear it up .. rsx / integra .. whatever... "DC5" that stays the same...
i have heard rumors of a DC5-R possibly coming into the states -- 2003 - 2004, its all up in the air right now ... at this point people are just speculating.. hopefullt however - they will bring it stateside, so we can join in the fun of the ITR again!

To clear it up for the hundreth time:
The world doesn't have Acura, it has Honda. The Integra is marketed worldwide as the Honda Integra. In the United States, Acura exists. In going along with the new tradition of naming cars in useless collections of letters, the integra was renamed RSX. RSX, NSX, 3.2 TL , 3.5 R.S etc.
The Type - R will come to the US as an RSX. Why you'd want to spend 26 grand on it is beyond me.

"So its an Acura?"
No, its an Honda
"HUH, i thought you said you drove an integra?"
Yeah, i do drive an integra...its an Honda
"Its an ACURA!!!!..its not an HONDA"
I bet you $20 its is an Honda!
"Whatever....your stupid.....its not a Honda Integra"
Yes it is!
"Never heard of it!!"
The "KICKER" is......shes my classmate and drives a BRAND NEW PRELUDE and her father works @ Goodson Honda( parts dept. ) for about 20 years now
I personally think the rsx type S looks better then the Integra Type-R. The Type-R spoiler is so extreme and looks like rice (in my opinion, no haters please). Unless the states is gonna get the REAL R and not some souped up Type-S (like the aussie version), then i say you guys should just buy a type S and have fun.
I don't think the RSX has that much competition....Celica, eclipse, focus, tiburon The WRX is not in the same class as the RSX nor are any of the four doors. The RSX already blows away the sentra se-r, mp3 and the neon r/t. Although i heard the neon srt is gonna be fast, i wouldn't even consider buying a pos dodge.
ive seen a neon around here some where.. to tell you the truth it didnt look bad but it had a gay shiny gt wing.. and we all know neons arent gonna have a use for that.. it was black and had like a custom kit molded to the body.. it had quite some speed too

Of course the aformentioned points may not matter to some people but the whole point of the R vehicles is that they are fun to drive, track ready, purist performance machines. The feature content and the synthesis of design, performance, features, and quality is really what sets Honda apart.
With all that said, I still wish Honda employed more rear-wheel drive in their lineup. And I am somewhat tired of having to add a qualifier whenever I talk about Honda performance, "Its the fastest car, with 4 cylinders...with front wheel drive...that won't get recalled...". I want to be able to say, "My RSX-R is the best sports car for under $30K...", or at the very least that it can hang with all of the cars in its class.
All in all I might buy the RSX-R if the RX-8 doesn't turn out too well and the CTR comes in at much more than $20K. I think it'd be worth the price $26K tag (sans-gouging) if you consider the total package.
