Default have a 4ws accord?

I happened to come across a deal on a prelude some time back and intended on rebuilding the blown motor (got the car super cheap... 92 si 4ws btw).

So as I am now starting to part the car out cause I dont have time for the project... I find myself look at the electronic 4ws system on this lude and wondering how much work it would be to put under my 5th gen.

So kinda kicking it around for right now (if it possible and making measurements)... I have the complete system and everything sitting right here on the lude still(100% all working).

Anyone wanna add their input or what they think about such a project... I would appreciate it???

I think it's an interesting concept. Though putting it into your accord may prove more time consuming than anything else. Not sure that it would really be worth it.

I was sitting here trying to decide what I actually thought about the idea, but I have absolutely no knowledge about what's involved with the 4ws system. Am I intrigued? Definitely.

I am interested in how the suspension geometry compares between the 2 cars. Having to completely redo the rear suspension (mounting locations, etc.) could prove to be more of a pain of an *** than anything.

Obviously, it's going to depend on you whether you think it's worth it or not... For many it would be just a waste of time. If I had the tools and welding/fabrication skills I would love to attempt it just for the sake of trying...

thanks for the replies!!!

I just been looking for any thoughts on the subject... I have the 2 cars honda service manuals here, so I am in the process of doing some comparisons and thinking of options (suspension geometry is one of the area's we are also concerned about).

I am still learning more about the system myself... I have a ton of information and am looking for anything more I can find. I am getting some guidance and direction from a cert. master wrench @ honda... since he is related and all I get it cheap too.

I am just really trying to brainstorm the possible problems, fixes, etc... so thats why I am fishing for any and all input, opinions, or even criticism. THANK YOU... I really appreciate your time reading/ replying to this!

here's my inital thought: my accord steers fine with 2 wheel steering, I personally wouldn't want to make things more complicated or have more stuff that could break down the road...

it would be neat, but ****, with the time you invest you could probably do something you'll enjoy more every day (rebuild the lude motor and stuff it in the accord?)

my accord is not a daily driver... good thoughts to keep in mind though.

so anyways... the more I compare the suspension and the components involved in this... yeah thinking it is a no go, too much work involved for me to consider.

by the time I would go and do all the ness. work to stick the 4ws under my car... I might as well have just rebuild this prelude's motor and left the 4ws alone.

so oh well thats what I am going to probably do... back to the blah.

the problem with 4WS is even if you get it working, a lot of parts are discontinued now, they also can have problems with alignment, if you can find someone who can align it. It was a novel concept, but didn't last long and they really didn't make many of them, rebuild the motor in the Lude and have a unique car.
