LOL Hold the RPM's steady then when you are ready to go drop the clutch and give it half gas. Hold half gas as you watch the speedo climb and wait to feel the car hook. As soon as you feel it hook a bit floor it.

i also wondered about this. i always keep my rpm steady when launching, but i recall in the "fast and furious" watching them launch and u heard the rev REV REV REV errrrrrr...it always made more sense to me to hold rpms. i still suck at launching tho.

This can depend of how light your flywheel is. Stock R flywheel you don't need to blip it (or tap the throttle since some folk here just can't comprehend what you are referring to). But if you have a lighter flywheel sometimes it is neccessary to blip or tap the throttle a bit higher before you take off in 1st gear.
Launching wise I've never practiced for dragging or 1/4 mile but holding steady and slipping the clutch smoothly has worked well for me when taking off from a standstill.

I have a spoon flywheel and I always blip my throttle from a stop and anytime I switch gears. I dont do it to be mad option tyte. I do it so my car doesnt stall or jerk or bog when dropping my racing clutch... since that normally stalls the engine at a low rpm having a lightweight flywheel and a racing clutch.
I dont drag race my car, thats so 00, 01, and very retarded.
