Default Short Shifter Compatability, which to use b16a/90crx

It would seem either the search function is dead, or there really are no posts on short shifters. I suspect the first.

I was checking eBay for short shifters for my Crx.

1990 Crx Si
B16a Hasport Mounts and Linkage

and i found these...
http://search.ebay.com/crx-short-shi...R8QQsacatZ6000

very cheap, will they work with my hasport shift linkage? or does it not matter?

I am also in desperate need of bushing replacements
found theses...

Same deal, will they work? I really have no idea.

What have you used? do you reccomend any short shifters or bushings? and where to buy?

I'm using an ebay short shifter, have been for the past year... Working good for me. Mine seems to be a copy of the Neuspeed shifter.

I recommend not buying a cheap billet aluminum shifter because they break. Steel is the way to go.

What have I used? See:

I had a genaric ebay short throw and put it in with my swap, (hasport linkage and b16)

I couldnt stand the the throw it was about 2 inches in every direction, So close. And it was hard to get in reverse,

I just put the stock 99-00 si one in, and it works great

Targa250R - is that a steel one in your picture? it looks like the ones from my eBay link. I didn't want the shifter to be raised that high. Any suggestions?

IntegraXSi - you buoght the black one from my link? This is on a crx correct? Did the shifter stick as high up as the picture Targa250R put up?

HatchBox - The throw being 2 in. in every direction...do you mean it was loose? your bushings were dead? or do you mean thats how long the throw was? just tooooo short?

What about those bushings i llinked to. Whats your opinion, shoudl they work?

Here is my $0.02, I used a Stock Gs-R(95+) one and just cut the bottom to fit the linkage.

The stock Gs-R one is already a short shifter compare to the CRX ones. And if you have Gs-R shifter then it would make it even easier for you, no mod to the bottom where the bolt goes to.

Targa250R - that shifter is kind of scary man, like those huge *** Nissan ones.

No i had the ES bushings and it was when it was In Neutral, i would push the shifter about 2 inches to get it into gear, too short for my taste.

I have heard that the del sol has the shortest OEM throw.

88cerx - does it raise the shifter as much as in the photo in this post? If anything i'd like to lower the shifter and shorten the throw.

not tryin to steal the thread but I put a Del sol shifter in with my swap and it doesn't feel short at all when you put it in gear should you still be able to move it side to side like 2-3 inches???

That would mean your bushings are shot.

Damn I thought when you do the swap it was okay to just go ahead and use the original shifter in the car. Someone told me if I was going to use a short throw shifter that I would need to by one for the CRX.

I'm not really sure, partially what i'm trying to find out. You could of possible gotten the wrong bushings, but new bushings are suppose to prevent that loosness in the shifter if i'm not mistaken.

I'm also not sure if short shifters are universal threw out the B series line.

As for getting a new shifter ***, eh not to my knowledge, and really if mine did'nt fit, i'd make it fit one way or another. Drill the hole bigger, glue it in, whatever don't matter to me.
