Default my antenna?

i bought a used 94 del sol S...not sure if the antenna is mechanical (rolls up & down itself) but mine sure as hell is broken or something if it supposed to go down when i turn off the car. anybody know where i can pick up a motor for it? or fix it even? thanks

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by unrefined7 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i bought a used 94 del sol S...not sure if the antenna is mechanical (rolls up & down itself) but mine sure as hell is broken or something if it supposed to go down when i turn off the car. anybody know where i can pick up a motor for it? or fix it even? thanks</TD></TR></TABLE>Try pulling it out and taking it apart and see if you can find something wrong, check fuses, and if there is an aftermarket HU installed, make sure the power ant. trigger lead is not hooked up to constant power, that is how they work, the power ant. has a constant power and a ground going to it and it also has a trigger wire from the HU going to it, when you pot 12v to the trigger wire the ant, mast gos up, when you take the 12v away from the mast gos down, if there is no constant power at the ant. it will not go up or down, no matter what you do to to the trigger wire, so if the mast was up, and the fuse went, then evan if you turn off the radio or evan the car, the ant. will stay up, sooooooo............ first pull the trim panel and check to see if you have a power ant. and if you do, check and see if it has power and ground and check and see if the trigger wire power switchs off and on with the car, if all that is good then pull the ant. and check it, [pull it apart] if its not a power and, [no motor] and just a shaft behind the trim, then its manual, and is not going down when you push it because it is seized, corroded right where the mast gos into the shaft, a little release it or WD40 may break it free, if there is no shaft below the mast, ignore all the above, it's a fixed mast, not ment to go up and down. 94
