Mig Welding -What am I doing wrong?
Ok i had my welder for some time now with no gas (yes dumb I know) but i got a bottle 75-25 and went to town to realize how dumb i was for not have gas. Now the question is when im doing a 90 degree joint say welding a flange onto exhaust Im finding the gas is building up and making some kind of sheild where the welder will keep arking but its like no metal is being added? im baffled? please help/
pics? sorry i may have worded it wrong. as im making my bead it will just stop laying metal but seems to continue arking baffles me becuase the metal has to be going somewhere
but its like theres a little forfield between the ark and the metal and it just glows green? i dont have a pic with me but ill bring one up tomorrow fomr the shop of the output im getting when this happenes,.

Your wire may not be feeding smoothly. If the wirespeed slows down, the arc gets longer, since the voltage doesn't change. As the arc gets longer, it can even get long enough to get up to the contact tip. When it burns, it will give off a green glow.
Check the tip. THen check to make sure the wire is feeding smoothly. Keep the rollers snugly tightened...NOT with a tool or enough that it's considered tight, but just snug. Make sure rollers are clean and NEVER put oil on them.
