Default anyone with e-cutout on allmotor setup?

j/w if anyone had an e-cutout on an allmotor setup...some might think it's a waste of time, but i thought it would be pretty cool, since alot of people run straight headers at the track anyways...well i wanna see some pics of peoples setups...i've seen alot of turbo setups with the downpipe in all, but i wanna see if there's any allmotor honda's out there with an e-cutout...thanks.

I use one.

I have a 3" pipe coming from my header to just behind the rear subframe, with a q-tec cutout on the end of it.

I close it up, and it's much quieter.. i dont close it all the way obviously, as it is not a dump, it's more of a trap... but even half closed kills alot of sound, open it's just stupid loud..

do you think it'll be worth it, running it after the cat? cuz i was thinking of just replacing the cat with a test pipe and bolting on the cut out right there...oh well...you got any pics of it?

I have it on my all motor set up right after the header collector!! it gave me close to 10whp open hope the pic works!!

It dumps straight behind my front driverside tire on the CRX. It is fairly quite closed but sounds and performs just like open headers when turned on and open!!

I was looking into as well, kind of just to play around with on the street. I wanted one that you could open from inside the cabin. Anyone try the Mr.Gasket one ?

i don't have an e-cutout but i just have the cutout (y-pipe). dont' have enough money for the electric cut out, figured only time i'm going to open it is at the track. 13 hp loss for me when it is closed.

13hp loss compared to what kinda exhaust? stock or a free flowing cat back?

i've dynoed 10hp loss from an rsx-s muffler compared to no muffler.

I have a 3" e-cutout that I was gonna use on my last turbo project but never did. Im thinking heavily on using it on my current projuect on my hatch but not sure yet. I would be trying to use it with a stock exhaust.

You lose 13 hp when that thing is closed?

it is hooked up to a stock exhaust.

yup 13 hp loss (177 vs 190), fairly understandable with a stock exhaust

Where's a good place to mount the cutout to get maximum power?

I'm confused. Are you saying that you gain 13HP with it open?

Wow.
When he's running the stock exhaust he has 13 less horsepower, then when the cutout is open? What dont you understand??

he loses 13 hp because he is going through a stock exhaust AND because of the general design of the e-cutout. That thing is disrupting the flow of the exhaust gasses bigtime! The gases are smacking a wall when that this is closed.

So in other words, a cutout isn't really worth it?

I thought he meant he had 13 more HP with the cutout open because of how restrictive the stock exhaust is. Not saying that a cut out wouldn't hurt hp when it's closed, but 13 hp is pretty extreme for adding the cutout alone.

ya that makes sense...... maybe if he has a 2inch exhaust.

I made 3whp with mine over my 2.5inch exhaust, but the qtec is a peice of junk don't buy it. They use a 9 volt motor on a 12 volt car.

damn...that looks like you have shitty ground clearance...what kinda header are you using?...i have a dmh cutout...i hear that the dmh ones are pretty good...and do you really think it's worth it for 3 more whp?...i know any HP for allmotor is good...but do you think it's worth it?

in my case, i got sick of unbolting the whole exhaust off everytime i went to the track. it's much easier unscrewing 3 butterfly nuts and having the same effect.

i lost 13 hp with the cut out closed. gained 13 hp with it open. <TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Chillinit &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">he loses 13 hp because he is going through a stock exhaust AND because of the general design of the e-cutout. what he meant by this is when the cut out is closed, the flow of the exhaust isn't straight. instead it is going into a dead end (closed cut out) and trying to make it's way out, thus loss of more hp.
