on the front of the motor on a b18b i need to replace the seal on the front left side (right above the ditributor). Is it an easy fix? is all i have to do is take off the valve cover and undo the bolts, or do i have to actually mess with anything else? it has recently started to leak oil down the front of the block.

best advise is not to overtighten the bolts caus they break off easy......

 

replacing it is easy, the bolts though are torqued pretty tight there in my exp.

 

Technically, it's a cam plug... The cam seals (2 of them) are on the opposite end.

 

i wouldnt go past 8lbs for the valve cover bolts.. i ended up breaking the cam "plug" bolts and had to buy new ones and grind them down to the proper length. what a bitch! here my thread about my experience with the cam seal leak.. i got pix in there
