Default fuel cutoff switch question

i got a fuel cutoff switch installed professionally cuz i hate wires ..

when i start the car, it sounds like its struggling and just wont turn over unless i flip the switch .. so im happy w/ it ..

but i have been reading that there is residual fuel that allows the car to start and run for a few seconds .. why does this not happen to my car ?

any info is appreciated, thanks

On my old hatch, the car would run for maybe a second or so before dying when the the kill switch was hit.

When the car was parked, and I tried to start it with the switch engaged, however, it would not start.
