Default A few picture questions specific to the engine I own, numbered too!

QUESTION ONE:

Recently I've seen some posts of "gunky" engines sold to people. To my untrained eye, mine looks pristine. Understand that I'm not going to tear the whole engine down, especially since it looks fine up top (to me).

QUESTION TWO:

See that black box in the lower right to the left of the thermostat housing? Is that the stock PCV catchcan? Does something from the Z6 plug into this (SIRII)? Isn't she nice and clean?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION THREE:

This came with the engine, junk it? Isn't the one I have in the car adequate?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION FOUR:

This sure doesn't look stock, the ECU has a new chip with a wire hanging out, the chip says "Rivertec". So the settings won't be stock? Can I re-use the Z6 ECU as it?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION FIVE:

This guy looks nubbed off, what do I call it? Some kind of torque mount? Needs replacing I take it. What would a Honda dealer call it?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION SIX:

This is coming from the power steering pump (I want to keep it for now). Is there an equivalent to the crimped fitting in my harness already? Plug and play?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION SEVEN:

You can't really tell in the pics but on one of the axles the boot seems a little bound up on the inside, total loss?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

QUESTION EIGHT:

WTF?

http://www.we-todd-did-racing....D.jpg

Thanks!

Yes you can junk it or try to sell it maybe...its suprising what people will buy trust me.

Umm...i got mine at like autozone...cost like $46 bucks for one of those. They are the front lower engine mounts.

When in doubt replace them....They arent that expensive and if you are trying to do it right do it right the first time...thats what i've learned in my experience.

Hope some of that helped

Keep the fuses...they cost a grip if you ever blow one...I'd try to sell the fuse box first, then strip the fuses out of it, the chunk the box

that is a torque mount. Looks like the one on your transmission. I am somewhat sure you can reuse the one from your current engine (as long as the current transmission is a manual)

The axles look a little beat up. Might try some rebuilts from a local parts store. Most rebuilds have a lifetime warranty, and nows a good time to replace both.

Yep, she's in my closet!

I have a manual currently so I'll crawl under and check the tranny torque mount.

Looks like someone chipped it...get a better pic of the guts and I can tell if its a decent job or crap. Looks like a p28. Check the sticker on the side, too.

The ECU is a P30.

My car currently has a D16Z6 in it, is the ECU with it compatible with the SIRII? Plug and play?

Will I need to get a new ECU? I want the thing to just run on a stock map, God only knows what the prior person programmed.

Could've changed the oil more frequently

Again oil changes. And yes thats what the pcv connects to, the oil catches and is put back into the block.

QUESTION THREE:

This came with the engine, junk it? Isn't the one I have in the car adequate?

QUESTION FOUR:

This sure doesn't look stock, the ECU has a new chip with a wire hanging out, the chip says "Rivertec". So the settings won't be stock? Can I re-use the Z6 ECU as it?
