is it illegal?
i have rims that had some cracks in them but were welded and ive been drivin on them for months and they are fine. I want to get new rims, so i want to sell these. Would it be illegal for me to sell these. When i sell them ill be sure to let the person know they were cracked.. and ill show them the welds. just a quick question...

it's like selling a salvage car that's been welded together and not telling the buyer . if they get into a car accident and people die or become injured due to the cars previous wreck...get ready for your *** to be sued.
sell some welded rims , the rims break .. the car rolls over... people die..
you're responsible because you did not disclose specific information in regards to the damage that was previously done to the rim.
bottom line, make sure you tell the buyer " hey one of the rims had a crack in it and it was repaired ". Have him sign some type of document , that still won't hold up in court..
as-is documents don't hold up..

so ur saying even if he signs a paper knowing they were cracked.. and knows they were cracked but fixed i would still get sued if say a crack broke and he was injured or w.e

Actually I don't think that you have to tell the buyer anything about the cracks (If you want to be a jerk), unless they ask you if they have been cracked or if there is anything wrong with them. You just can't lie to them.
Don't take my word on it though, as I am not positive.

no i think you do.. cuz like reza said.. u cant sell someone a car that was wrecked without telling them
it would fall under negligance for failing to provide info..
i dont want to be a jerk so im telling the person about the cracks and welds. If i wanted to.. i could just go to a high school where no one knows me and sell them.. then i cant get sued.. but im not like that

It probably would only be considered negligence if it was something that caused the car to be unsafe, and for you to be responsible the injury or death would have to probably be a direct result or failure of the part in a situation in which it normally wouldn't have failed. Im most accidents unless the wheel failed under normal conditions it wouldn't really become an issue.
Welding cracks in wheels is quite common although you should disclose it to the buyer, if your worried that the wheel is unsafe you probably shouldn't sell it. IF it's like any other crack that got rewelded I wouldn't worry about it to much, just write up a short contract and have them sign it.
As for letting people know about prior accidents you only have to disclose an accident if someone asks you about it (Although if your car was involved in a major accident that resulted in frame work you should let the buyer know). You can't lie about it. If the car was salvaged from the accident they would obviously see it on the title.

true, but why put someone in danger of losing their life? ( if the crack is that bad)

believe it or not , yes...
no matter what " as - is " document you have signed by the buyer..
the court will always favor the buyer because they are the victim in the transaction.
the seller gained with out disclosing the truth behind the item.
so you will be looked at as a snake. ( hypothetical worst case scenario of course)
