Couple of STUPD newb questions.
Ok, I'm about to buy a 89 Civic DX (Well, I'm going to go look at it on Thursday, and buy it on Friday if I like it) but I have a couple questions I can't find answers for.
First Stupid Question. Does the 89 Civic DX come with dual carbs or FI? I've seen it talked about both ways, but I've also noticed that most threads that talk about the dual carbs use Euro-Slang. Did they have carbs in UK, and FI in US maybe?
Second Stupid Question. What the smegg does "EF" stand for? It seems to be used in context that implies a frame style. But I can't find confirmation on that anywhere.
Third and Last Stupid Question. What are the major differences between DX, LX, and other model series?
Thank you much in advance for your sage advice.

1. Dx/Lx/STD models are Fuel injected. None of the 88-91 civic/crx cars came with dual carbs in the US
2. EF is the chassis code for the jdm 88-91 civic/crx. The USDM code is ED and the European code is EE.
3. The difference between models is in the options and engine selection.

In europe we did have only one carb model of CRX's. All others were Fuel Injected. And the 1.4l CRX is very, i mean very rare.
It goes like this in Europe
D14A1 90hp/6300rpm 112Nm/4500rpm ('90-91)
Soch, 2-carb
D16A6 110hp/6300rpm 134Nm/5300rpm ('88)
Sohc, PGM-FI, CAT
D16A7 116hp/6200rpm 142Nm/5200rpm ('88-91)
Sohc, PGM-FI
D16A8 130hp/6800rpm 143Nm/5700rpm ('88-91)
Dohc, PGM-FI, CAT
D16A9 130hp/6800rpm 143Nm/5700rpm ('88-91)
Dohc, PGM-FI
D16Z5 124hp/6800rpm 140Nm/5700rpm ('89-91)
Dohc, PGM-FI, CAT, low emission
B16A1 150hp/7600rpm 144Nm/7100rpm ('90-91)
Dohc, Vtec, PGM-FI, CAT, low emission
Hope this cleared something.
